Cheltenham Festival tips and race-by-race verdicts
Four days and 28 races — the championship meeting of jump racing, with the Champion Hurdle, the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the Stayers' Hurdle and the Gold Cup.
The races
Race times appear here once declarations are out, usually two days before the meeting.
Why stamina matters on the hill
The run-in at Cheltenham climbs all the way to the line. Horses that travel well but have never finished strongly up a stiff climb are the ones to question, and the ground in March can turn soft quickly.
Big fields, big handicaps
Festival handicaps often have 20 or more runners. Our analyst prices every contender, so you can see whether the market is short on the favourite or has missed an outsider.
How to use our verdicts
Each verdict gives our chance for the main contenders and the lowest price worth taking. If the price has gone below it, we would rather pass — and so should you.
